Juliet Johnston School Complex (JJSC) has marked graduation and career day on the 12th of September, 2023 at its premises in Akyem Old Tafo in the Abuakwa North Municipality of the Eastern Region of Ghana.




The colourful event saw pupils displaying their talents in poetry recitals, music and dance, drama and unveiling Ghana's rich cultural heritage.

Pupils of KG2 dressed in uniforms of different professions in Ghana as they celebrate the career day.

Mrs Juliet Gladys Osafo, Ghanaian Director JJSC, in her speech mentioned that, the joint Ghanaian/ UK venture since its inception in the year 2003 have produced quality graduates with high moral standards.

She explained that, the school is twined with Muthill Primary in Scotland which enables teachers from both schools to embark on exchange programs every two years.

According to Mrs Juliet Gladys Osafo, pupils in kindergarten are able to read and write due to the phonic method used in teaching and the blend of Ghana and Uk curriculum in the school.


Adding to the successes earned by the school, Mrs Juliet Gladys Osafo said, performance of the school at Basic Education Certificate Examinations (BECE) over the years have been remarkable with the School winning Gold at the 2023 National Kangaroo Mathematics Competition.

She further thanked the staff, parents and all stakeholders for their continuous support and cooperation and assured them of the school management's commitment of ensuring high quality standards of education for socio-economic development of the country.

Mrs Fiona Claire Johnston, UK Director JJSC, in her goodwill message welcomed everyone to the function and congratulated the KG2 and Basic Six pupils for their hard work which has translated into their graduation.

She posited that, twenty years on, the school has produced hundreds of people who have gone to better lives due to the quality of education they had.

Mrs Fiona Claire Johnston thanked the school management committee, teachers, parents and everyone for their enormous contributions towards the success of the school.


The ceremony was chaired by Mr Joseph Coleman, Nsutam Senior High School.

Also present were, a representative from the Abuakwa North Municipal Education Directorate, Mr Isaac Kwame Gyamfi, Private Schools Coordinator, Rev Richard Amponsah Marfo, Rev Alexander Afrifa, Mr Foster Otchere Asiamah, Rev Hertylove Agyapomaa, Mr Richard Twum, M/A Juliet Johnston Junior High Headmaster, ADO II Godfred Asare, Abuakwa North Safety officer, GFS, parents, and the press.
