Ghetto convention held as wee smokers, drug addicts and marginalized meet at Akyem Osiem




The Home and Urban Mission (HUM) of The Church of Pentecost completely dedicated to reaching out to marginalized, unreached and unengaged groups has held Christmas convention at Akyem Osiem in the Eastern region for the streets and gettos boys in the area.

The convention brought together wee smokers, drug addicts, people tagged as junky and rejected by families.

They worshipped, praised and prayed as the gospel preached to them for which a total of ten people accepted Christ and were water baptized after the three-day convention climaxed on Sunday.

Some of these ghetto boys who are wee smokers, drug addicts among others were thankful to The Church of Pentecost for leading them to Christ.

They promised to live righteous henceforth


The Old Tafo Akyem District Pastor of the Church of Pentecost Pastor Raymond Agawu was elated about the outcome of the convention stating that the Church will continue to reach out to the marginalized in Society.

The Eastern Regional HUM Coordinator Pastor Gabriel Owusu Akyeaw and Wife Mrs. Patricia Akyaw who also visited and fellowshipped at the convention in an interview, said similar conventions were being held in Akuapem Mampong, Nkurakan, New Jejeti and other places.

He said through the HUM activities many people tagged as criminals and bad guys in society have reformed.

Isaac Ofori, presiding member of the Restoration Assembly said efforts were underway to reach out to over 100 marginalized and unengaged people in the old Tafo district with the gospel’s.
