Some persons living with disabilities in the Kwahu East District of the Eastern region has alleged that, they are strongly convinced that, they don't get what is due from the disability fund and that, will appealed to the government to allow them to open individual accounts so that, they could be credited directly from the source without being channelled through the Assemblies where they believed some sort corrupt activities take place.
According to the Kwahu East Chairman of the persons living with disabilities, Kingsley Boateng and other members of the group who was speaking to Journalist in an interview after the Kwahu Nkwatia Development Chief, Nana Owiredu Wadie I supported over 100 widows and disability persons in the area with cash and fowl to climax the new year festivities commended, the Chief for always being around to help them whenever the need arises. They however expressed concerns about how the disability fund has been treated over the years at the various District Assemblies which lacks transparency and suggested that, the funds should go into the accounts of the beneficiaries directly from the source rather than going through the Assemblies where they don't get the full benefits.
The Development Chief of Kwahu Nkwatia, Nana Owiredu Wadie I also entreated the people to champion unity and love to promote development and growth in the area and charged them to support him in all spheres as he envisioned to create jobs for the teeming youth in the area going forward.
