WHO DO YOU SAY I AM?

Wed, 30 Aug 2023 Source: Nana Boateng kakape

Do you know me? "Who do you say I am?" was the theme of a message delivered by Octogenarian evangelist Boniface Adjei at Koforidua Ascension Presbyterian Church of Ghana.

It was a day set aside on the calendar of Presbyterian Church of Ghana, to graduate children who have attained twelve years, from Children service to Junior Youth (JY).

The occasion at Koforidua, saw twenty-five children presented to the church by the Children service teachers.

The children were advised, prayed for and committed into the hands of Presbyter, Eric Akowuah, the leader of Junior Youth (JY).

The day's gospel with the theme, WHO DO YOU SAY, I AM? was delivered by a renowned Evangelist, Octogenarian Boniface Adjei.

The main call of the message was centred on relationship with one another and whether the relationship translates into familiarity and knowledge of one another.

That knowledge of one another, is what the Lord Jesus Christ expected of His disciples after haven been with them for years.

The question was, "Do you really know me?"

If you do, who do you say I am?

Others say I am Moses, Elijah or one of the prophets?

Evangelist Boniface Adjei emphasized that the knowledge and true personality of Jesus Christ cannot be carnal but by revelation of the Holy Spirit.

Evangelist Boniface called on members of the church (Christians) not to walk carnally but in the Spirit.

He said Christians have to call on Christ to lead and direct them in whatever they do.

He said further that, members of Presbyterian Church of Ghana, Koforidua Ascension congregation and Christians alike, have to assess their deeds and action.

They have to ask themselves if Jesus did or could do what they do today.

He stated that Christians have to be Christ-like.

They have to be born anew, born of the Spirit in order to be part of those predestinated in the image of God's begotten son.

The Octogenarian said Christians have to learn of Jesus Christ, His humility and meekness so as to benefit from the bountiful blessings therein.

Evangelist Boniface Adjei exhorted the members to be Holy in order to be acceptable to God.

He said Christians should present their bodies as living sacrifice, holy and acceptable and perfect will of God (Rom 12:1-3).

In that context evangelist Boniface Adjei said people might seriously worship but may have their worship unacceptable to God because of pride.

The need for humility and call unto Jesus Christ to lead and direct is therefore very much necessary to keep all walk in the Spirit of God.

He said Christians can never avoid storm of life as we journey on but we can overcome if we put away all forms of pride and ego and get our anchor fastened to the Rock (Jesus Christ) and cleave unto Him.

Evangelist Boniface Adjei cited an example with the fight between the might of carnal giant Goliath and the Spirit led David.

He said without the Spirit leading and directing David, Goliath would nave easily given the flesh of David to birds and dogs.

He then encouraged all to walk in the Spirit and in the name of God.

The evangelist said when confusion raises its ugly head in the family of Christians or in the house God, we need to know that they are spiritually attacked and that cannot be tackled carnally. He said that is part of storm of life and like the disciples Christmas have to call on master Jesus; "don't you care we perish"?

He exhorted the church to call unto Jesus in whatever storm (challenges) that could come as they journey on and Master Jesus would calm down the storms of life.

In his conclusion, the Octogenarian, Evangelist Boniface Adjei advised Christians to be quick to hear, slow to speak and slow to wrath.

He said Koforidua Ascension congregation of Presbyterian Church is salt and light and that people are looking up unto them and as such, they should be meek, humble, quick to hear, slow to speak and slow to wrath. They should hook their anchor to the Rock (Jesus Christ) to overcome all forms of spiritual attack.
