The National Union of Ghana Students (NUGS) chapter of the University of Energy and Natural Resources (UENR) on February 14th, 2023 celebrated Valentine with UENR students in grand style.

February is a month of love, a month of strengthening relationship with family, friends and loved ones. The 2023/2024 administration of UENR NUGS which is being led by His Excellency Ohene Frimpong Kelvin made the month a memorable one for the students of the University of Energy and Natural Resources.

Right from the beginning of the month, UENR NUGS started an engagement called 14 Days of Vals. This was a road to the actual Valentine Day. On each day from 1st February to 14th February, UENR NUGS engaged students on questions relating to love and relationship where most students expressed their views on social media and other platforms to that particular question on each day. The engagement was a massive one, different views from all kind of students.

14th February was the grand day. The date was harboured with two occasions. The first session (morning program) was a seminar which was organized in collaboration with Proactive Global. The second program was the entertainment aspect.

The seminar in the morning was dubbed HY3 FA Y). As stated earlier, this seminar was organized by UENR NUGS in collaboration with Proactive Global. The seminar sought to educate Students on SEXUALLY TRANSMITTED INFECTIONS (STI), GENOTYPE and RELATIONSHIP. The guest speakers for this program were Mr Nathaniel Akwasi Oduro (Executive Direction, Proactive Global), Ahmed Ibrahim Bambilla ( Technical Coordinator, Ghana Aids Commission, Bono, Bono East and Ahafo Region), Dr Twene Samuel (Internal Medicine Department, Tamale Teaching Hospital) and Mrs. Eva Atika Bakuri Dinye (Ag. Head Counselling Centre, UENR). The auditorium of UENR was fully filled with a lot of students who showed very much interest in the seminar. All questions and clarifications students sought to know as far as the topic was concerned were rightfully answered with satisfaction. The seminar started at 9:00 am and ended at 12:00 pm.

The evening session which was dubbed FEBLENTINE EXPERIENCE was the entertainment event which happened at the Basketball Court of Getfund Hostel of the University of Energy and Natural Resources. This session was done in collaboration with Greena FM and ARC FM. FEBLENTINE EXPERIENCE was made up of series of entertaining activities. Among them was the Livestream and Projection of UEFA CHAMPIONS LEAGUE match between Bayern Munich and Paris Saint German (PSG). The Getfund basketball court was fully filled with students. Students were engaged on predict and win game. Gifts were given to students with correct predictions. Immediately after the end of the match, an event dubbed Love Craft was followed. The event was inculcated with UENR DATE RUSH.

The energy, the participation, the crowd, the setting, the pulchritude of the venue was overwhelming. The event ended with distribution of gifts such as Chocolates, love cards, snacks etc to students.

Indeed FEBLENTINE was a great experience.

Despite the fact that UENR NUGS seeks to protect the welfare of students, they're also poised to educate students all aspect of life including entertainment. UENR NUGS is here to serve the interest of students.
