No Bribes In Security Services Recruitments – NPP Regional Youth Organiser

Salahu-Deen Musah Al-Khomeini, the Upper East Regional Youth Organiser of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has dismissed as untrue allegations that Ghana's security services require applicants to pay bribes to secure a position.

Mr. Khomeini stated that he has conducted some investigations into the allegations, and the conclusion is that no one is required to pay any money to acquire employment in the Ghanaian security services.

"These are unfounded allegations." I am aware of these claims. I conducted an investigation into the matter.

But I could not locate a single person who said, "Yes, I am one of the individuals who purchased this position for $10,000 or $20,000."

I could not obtain any! In an interview with the Bolgatanga-based radio station Dreamz FM, he stated, "Therefore, I conclude that these are still stories that people are making up, with no justification."

When queried about allegations of secret recruitment into these services, he debunked them by explaining that everything is made public, but training is conducted in batches because not all recruits can be trained simultaneously.

"For our security services, we lack the necessary infrastructure to train everyone simultaneously.

Therefore, if we are recruiting 1,000 individuals, you may start by training 500 or 200. The following time, 200 more," he added.

Recruiting for the security services is purportedly plagued by bribery, corruption, and, more recently, the secrecy of vacancy announcements. However, Mr. Khomeini has stated that these allegations are baseless and false.
