Hajia Bintu, a popular figure on social media, has recently issued an apology after facing severe criticism on various platforms due to her endorsement of a questionable product.
In the video that went viral, Hajia Bintu was seen promoting a love potion or some form of charm that women can use to gain the attention of wealthy men, and she claimed that it would ensure things like 'fuck n stay', 'love & pay', and 'attraction to richman'.
This endorsement faced widespread criticism, with many individuals expressing their disapproval and labeling it as thoughtless.
Despite receiving some support from rapper Medikal, Hajia Bintu issued an apology on her Snapchat page on April 13, 2023, stating that she and her management team were negligent in promoting the product, and she had no intention of endorsing such out-of-line effects on the general public or her brand.
“I want to take this opportunity to apologize to all. I promote products for various brands and this time my management team and I, were negligent in accessing the effects of marketing products that a vendor brought to us. I have no intentions to attract such “out of line” effects on the General Public, myself and my brand. I am sincerely sorry for this act,” Hajia Bintu wrote.
However, despite the apology, some public figures, such as the broadcast journalist Afia Pokuaa, also known as Vim Lady, have called upon the relevant authorities, such as the Inspector General of Police and the Food and Drugs Authority, to take appropriate action.
