Heroic Sacrifice: Driver Dies Saving Nephew as Truck Burns

In a devastating incident on May 14th, 2023, a tragic fire completely destroyed a diesel truck transporting cashews from Sampa to Accra. The incident occurred at Juaso three line on the Accra-Kumasi Highway. The truck was involved in an accident caused by a private vehicle attempting to overtake.
According to an eyewitness, the driver of the truck, who was traveling from Kumasi, made an evasive maneuver to avoid colliding with the private car. Unfortunately, this resulted in a collision with a bridge. Despite the driver's heroic effort to save his nephew, who was also aboard the truck, he was unable to save himself and tragically lost his life in the ensuing fire.
Fortunately, the nephew survived the incident, although he sustained injuries and is currently receiving medical treatment at Juaso Government Hospital. Sadly, despite his desperate pleas for assistance, there was no one in the vicinity to come to the driver's aid.
Following the incident, the deceased driver's body was taken to Juaso mortuary. This unfortunate event serves as a reminder of the unpredictable nature of accidents and the importance of timely help and support during such emergencies.
