I’ve Stopped Promoting Music Because Musicians Are Broke, They Can’t Pay Me - Asantewaa

Fri, 14 Apr 2023 Source: Web Brief

Asantewaa, a popular TikTok star and actress, recently shared that she has stopped promoting music for artistes because many of them can't afford her services. It's become a new trend for musicians to engage TikTok influencers with large followings to help promote their music.

These influencers create entertaining skits that incorporate the new release. However, Asantewaa, who used to promote new music releases, revealed that her brand has become quite strong and established, which means that musicians cannot afford to pay for her services.

She even said that she wouldn't accept GH¢10,000 as payment for such services. While some artistes still reach out to her management team, Asantewaa no longer accepts these requests because they don't have the financial means to pay her.

This issue is not unique to Asantewaa, as other Ghanaian musicians have also expressed frustration with the exorbitant fees charged by TikTok influencers for promoting their music.

According to Sista Afia, a Ghanaian songstress, the amount charged by TikTok influencers for promoting a song can be used to pay for several TV playtimes.
