In a recent message, Pastor Adewale Giwa, leader of the ministry Awaiting The Second Coming of Christ, warned Ghana of impending divine punishment. The preacher claims that God spoke to him directly and instructed him to deliver a warning to the West African nation.
Although he did not specify the reason for the threat, it may be related to Ghanaian President Nana Akufo Addo's apparent leniency towards the LGBTQ+ community.
According to recent reports, Akufo-Addo stated that significant portions of the anti-LGBTQ+ bill being considered by parliament had been altered after intervention by his government. During a joint press conference with US Vice President Kamala Harris, who recently visited Ghana and spoke about the importance of homosexual rights, he made this statement.
In his warning, Giwa stressed that Ghana must turn to God quickly to avoid destruction. He claims that the Lord has instructed him to urge the nation not to lead other African nations astray and to avoid becoming a tool of the devil. He further warned that the nation would face punishment for its immoralities unless it repented and returned to God.
As a solution, Giwa suggested that Ghanaians fast and pray for forgiveness, saying that their leaders have caused many to stumble. He concluded by urging the nation to stop doing evil and repent to allow God to bless their land.
