Tragic! 19-year-old man drowns in well at Yawkwei

On Sunday, a 19-year-old man named Prince Oppong drowned in a well in Yawkwei, located in the Asante Akim Central region. According to reports, he fell into the well while trying to remove a plumbing pipe that had fallen in.
The tragic incident drew a large crowd to the area, with some people weeping and others taking photos with their phones. The Konongo Municipal Fire Commander, DO III Richard Aweso, confirmed the event to the Ghanaian Times yesterday.
The Ghana National Fire Service was notified of the incident at 9:55am and a team was dispatched from the Konogo Fire Station to the location. The team managed to recover the body of the deceased and handed it over to the police, who have deposited it at the Steward Morgue in Yawkwei.
DO III Aweso has urged the public to reach out to the GNFS on emergency numbers 192 and 112 if they require immediate assistance. He also called on people to collaborate with the GNFS in dealing with emergency situations.
