The Africa Bowling Development Championship 2023 recently came to an end at the prestigious Koko Bowling Center in Johannesburg, South Africa.
The competition began on February 14 and ran through February 19 in 2023, drawing participants from five of the ten federations connected to the Africa Bowling Federation.
As a new federation, the Ghana Bowling Federation got the opportunity to play against some of the best bowlers from the continent thanks to support from the Ministry of Youth and Sports.
Festus Annan, a Ghanaian bowler, was awarded a medal for being the team's best player in terms of points average. With his outstanding strikes as a rookie, the other bowler, John Galli, also received significant accolades.
Charles Obeng Amofah, the president of the federation, took advantage of the opportunity to thank the minister for youth and sports, the honorable Mustapha Yussif, for the enormous support that made it possible for the team to compete in the tournament in an interview with the local press following the closing ceremony. He also expressed his gratitude to Alhaji Hafiz Adams, the Chief Director of the Ministry of Youth and Sports, for his ongoing support ever since the Federation's founding in October 2022.
He also expressed his gratitude to the Federation's executives and other stakeholders for the extra effort they had all put in before, during, and after the event. The National Sports Authority's Robert Adjase Tetteyfio and Kwame Baa Mensa were also included in the trip. The team is due back home on Wednesday, 22nd February 2023.
