Mr. Kwame Baffoe, popularly known as ‘Abronye DC’, the Bono Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has donated 200 bags of cement and GHS1,000.00 cash to support the construction of an Islamic Senior High School in Sunyani.
Mr. Baffoe made the donation after he had addressed Muslims who converged on Wednesday at the Jubilee Park in Sunyani to pray as part of the Bono, Bono East and Ahafo Regional Celebration of the 2019 annual Eid-Ul Fitr festival.
He commended Alhaji Sheik Umar Abdul Kadir, the Regional Chief Imam for the laudable initiative and assured of his commitment to help for the speedy completion of the project to boost Islamic education in the Region.
Mr. Baffoe urged tribal chiefs and opinion leaders in the Zongo communities to mobilise the people to contribute their respective quotas to complete the project on schedule.
He said the completion of the project would increase access to secondary education in the Region and pledged his readiness to assist where possible, should the Committee responsible for the project call on him.
Alhaji Suallah Abdallah Quandah, the Bono, Bono East and Ahafo Regional Secretary of the National Peace Council, on behalf of Alhaji Sheik Kadir and the entire leadership of the Islamic community in the three regions, expressed appreciation and gave the assurance that the cement would be used for its intended purpose.
