Armed rubbers have shot dead a commercial minibus driver identified as Ahinful at Ekumfi Ekrowful in the Central Region Friday dawn around 2:00 am.
An eyewitness told Kasapa FM News Yaw Boagyan, the Hyundai vehicle with registration number GT-5863_19 was heading to Accra from Ajumako when the driver spotted some armed robbers attacking vehicle ahead of him.
He then decided to turn back to avoid being attacked by the robbers.
It was while he tried turning the vehicle that the robbers started firing at him. Unfortunately, he was hit by some bullets in the neck killing him instantly.
Police have launched a manhunt for the robbers.
The body has been deposited at Saltpond Government Hospital for preservation and autopsy.
The deceased who hails from Ajumako Essiam left behind a wife and four children.
