Chief Justice Gertrude Torkornoo has ordered the reopening of four courts in the Upper East Region, following their closure on October 29 due to safety concerns amid the Bawku conflict.
Regions including Bolgatanga, Zuarungu, and Bongo petitioned for the reopening, emphasizing their distance from the conflict zone.
A circular issued on November 8 confirmed the immediate reopening of the High Court, Circuit Court, and District Courts in Bolgatanga, as well as the District Court in Bongo.
Court registrars are instructed to resume operations.
