The Kusaug People’s Congress has urged President Nana Akufo-Addo to restore peace in Bawku, where recent clashes have led to over 15 deaths.
Speaking at a press conference, Congress President Rev. Prof. John Azumah criticized the government for inaction since the conflict began in November 2021, claiming the administration’s lack of response has enabled lawlessness, especially among the Mamprusis.
He linked the unrest to the influence of Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, a Mamprusi, but expressed confidence that the Kusasis would continue their efforts to secure peace.
