The Okaikwei Central constituency youth organizer for the New Patriotic Party, Oliver Ofori Baah, has asked Ghanaians to exercise patience over the appointment of MMDCEs.
The delay he explained was not intentional because the President, who is the appointing authority, wants to appoint qualified and competent persons for the job.
Appearing on Frontline on Rainbow Radio 87.5Fm, he said the President is on course in appointing competent men and women for the job.
He said the fallout from the 2020 polls and the performance of some MMDCEs thought the governing party lessons.
Some of the MMDCEs caused the party, and so, they do not want to repeat the same mistakes.
Oliver Ofori Baah assured Ghanaians when the list of MMDCEs come out, they will appreciate the persons appointed.
"The President must take his time and appoint competent people. The job as an MCE is not an easy one, and when appointed, you must uphold it, and the people will judge you by your performance. We do not have to allow politics to deny us the opportunity to appoint competent men and women,” he added.
