A final year student of Effiduase Senior High School in the Sekyere East District of the Ashanti Region has been stabbed to death by unknown assailants.
Derrick Agyei, 18, died hours after he was rushed to the Effiduase Government Hospital’s Emergency Unit.
He got stabbed in the neck after refusing to hand over whatever money he had on him to his assailants.
Superintendent Asare Bediako, the Sekyere East District Police Commander who confirmed the incident to Class News said that Derrick and his colleague scaled the school’s fence wall to watch a football match outside of campus on Wednesday evening.
They were attacked while returning to school.
His friend, Douglas Obeng, 17, surrendered the GHS2 he had on him to the thugs but Derrick refused to do same, thus, incurring the wrath of the assailants who stabbed him.
A team of crime officers from the Efiduase Divisional Police Command has since been deployed to the school to begin investigations into the incident.
