Four persons were on Wednesday, November 7, 2019, grabbed by officials of the Ghana Highway Authority following a swift operation on the George W. Bush Highway.
The four were illegally removing the median on the highway, popularly known as the N1 Highway.
Upon arrest, they produced a letter purportedly granted by the Authority giving them permission to replace the median with new wires under a project in collaboration with Wire Weaving Industries Ghana Limited.
The wire company is said to provide new coated wire mesh for the new median.
But officials from the Authority at the scene said the letter was fake.
The four were sent to the Achimota Police and immediately arraigned before court.
Their materials were subsequently seized.
