Lawyers for Richard Jakpa, the third accused in Ghana's ambulance procurement trial, have subpoenaed the Ghana Armed Forces to testify and provide documentary evidence.
This follows Jakpa's challenge to the authenticity of a dismissal letter used by the prosecution to cross-examine him.
Deputy Attorney General Alfred Tuah-Yeboah suggested Jakpa was dismissed for misconduct and indebtedness, which Jakpa denied, claiming he had never seen the letter.
Jakpa, a former Ghana Air Force officer, is on trial with Minority leader Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson for causing financial loss to the state. The case will be heard on July 16.
