Alan Kwadwo Kyeremanten, leader of the Movement for Change, has called for the abolition of the COVID-19 health levy and the Ghana Health Service disinfection fee.
He questioned the relevance of these fees in 2024 and emphasized the need to eliminate them.
Kyeremanten outlined plans to phase out taxes and charges on imported spare parts within two years of his administration and proposed a comprehensive review of all taxes and levies at the port to reduce the overall tax burden on importers.
He aims to make Ghana have the lowest tax rate regime in ECOWAS within three years.
