According to Chapter 8, Article 62 (b) of the 1992 Constitution of Ghana, a person shall not be qualified for election as the President of Ghana unless he/she has attained the age of forty years.
Joyce Bawah, ‘pondering’ over the age limitation placed on the qualification for President by the constitution, she made an inference to the 35-year-old Prime Minister, Sanna Marin, who has been serving Finland since 10 December 2019.
The politician who believes Ghana can follow suit noted that, “Yes, life they say, begins at forty (40) but all of us who are above 40 or in our 40s also know that life actually starts way before 40!”
