Attorney General (AG) Godfred Yeboah Dame plans to continue prosecuting the ambulance case despite the presiding judge's advice to recuse himself.
The judge recommended Dame step away due to his interaction with the third accused, Richard Jakpa, outside of court. Dame had discussed the case with Jakpa and encouraged him to submit a medical excuse to delay proceedings.
The judge, Justice Afia Serwah Asare-Botwe, felt this interaction didn't justify halting the prosecution but suggested Dame's recusal for the judiciary's best interest.
However, Dame, considering the judge’s comment as a suggestion, intends to proceed with the prosecution.
