University of Ghana Political Science Lecturer, Ransford Gyampo, has criticized President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo’s last-minute project commissioning, calling it an insult to voter intelligence.
Gyampo argued that such actions, reminiscent of former presidents Kufuor and Mahama in their final days in office, suggest attempts to sway voters rather than genuine service delivery.
In a social media post, he noted, “These last-minute projects are punishable insults to voter intelligence,” highlighting a trend in Ghanaian politics during election seasons.
However, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah, Vice Chairman of Dr. Bawumia's campaign, defended the timing, emphasizing that the projects reflect the government’s long-term track record.
"The commissions are part of a bigger track record, not bait for votes," he said, referencing 80 schools commissioned recently.
