Supporters of former President John Dramani Mahama have been involved in a near fatal accident near Busunu in the West Gonja District of the Northern Region.
The victims numbering 15 who suffered various degrees of injuries were on board a TATA mini bus with registration number GE 5642-17 belonging to AY Transport heading towards Yapei to usher in the former president into Daboya and later to Damongo as part of his campaign tour of the Northern Region, MyNewsGh.com can report
According to MyNewsGh.com reporters, it had rained on Saturday morning making the road slippery and as a result, the vehicle skidded off the main road after the driver lost control of the steering wheel.
An account by most of the victims who spoke to MyNewsGh.com revealed that the experience exhibited by the driver saved the situation as they would have recorded some fatalities considering how it happened.
All victims are currently at the West Gonja Hospital receiving treatment while those with minor injuries have been treated and discharged.
The Member of Parliament (MP) for the area, Hon Adam Mutawakilu visited and sympathized with accident victims and called on all drivers to be cautious on the road to avoid any such incident in future.
