Former president John Dramani Mahama on sunday paid a visit to ailing Chief Dauda Mandiaya Bawumia, who is the elder brother of vice President Dr Mahmud Bawumia.
Mr John Mahama visited the Lapaz residence of Chief Bawumia, who is Ghana’s former ambassador to Burkina Faso and also the chief of Kperiga in the Walewale traditional area.
Chief Bawumia, as he is popularly called, is reported to have been ill for some time now and the former president is reported to have donated an undisclosed amount of money to the former ambassador to help cater for his hospital bills.
Chief Bawumia was Ghana's ambassador to Burkina Faso from 2009 to 2013 and little has been heard of the since the NDC lost power in 2016.
His trial moments has hit at a time when his half brother Dr Bawumia is outside the country on a sick leave after he took ill on Friday, January 19, 2018.

The Bawumia is family has generally being described as one dominated by staunch NDC members.
The Vice President's fathre Alhaji Mumuni Bawumia, was a known member of the PNDC and was appointed Ghana's Ambassador to Saudi Arabia and later became chairman of the Council of State during the NDC regime.
