The Ashanti Regional Police Command is on a manhunt for a 30-year-old man who allegedly poisoned and killed his two children at Deduako Apemso in the Oforikrom municipality in the Ashanti region.
The deceased children, aged 7 and 3 died shortly after eating biscuits given to them by their father, locals told Kasapa Fm.
Father of the kids, Kofi Maafo, who’s known to be a carpenter in his neighbourhood allegedly committed the crime due to the financial burden that took a heavy toll on his life.
Abusua FM’s Akwasi Bodua, reported the unbearable hardships even caused the wife to flee from home, abandoning her deceased children and the husband to their fate.
Police retrieved the bodies of the deceased in an uncompleted building. Investigations are underway following the arrest of the suspect.
