A mobile money operator fell victim to a shooting incident on Monday evening in Walewale, located in the North East Region of Ghana.
The victim, identified as Rabiu, was swiftly transported to the Walewale Government hospital following the attack.
Eyewitnesses recount that the assault took place at a bustling bus station near the Nalerigu junction along the Tamale Bolga Road, situated at the heart of the Walewale township.
According to their testimonies, approximately three gunmen arrived at the scene on motorbikes. Before targeting the young operator with gunshots, they unleashed sporadic warning shots, instigating chaos and panic in the vicinity.
Aremeyaw Somo Lucky, the Municipal Chief Executive, confirmed the incident and disclosed that the police had initiated a manhunt for the perpetrators.
"I have just been informed about 5 minutes ago," the MCE conveyed to JoyNews' Regional Correspondent, emphasizing the urgency and gravity of the situation.
