Six newly-created branches of the main opposition National Democratic Congress in the Ho Central Constituency of the Volta Region have not been able to cast their ballot in the party’s ongoing parliamentary primaries on Saturday, 24 August 2019.
The Presiding Officer of the Ho Kpodzi Centre, Mr Steven John Vakpor, told journalists that they were waiting for instructions from the regional executives over the way forward.
Voting eventually began at 11 a.m. instead of 7 a.m. excluding the new branches which include Takla, Ekpo Kofe and Klefe-Demekpe.
A total of 524 candidates are contesting the internal polls in 157 constituencies out of 275.
Thirty-nine MPs are going unopposed.
