Private legal practitioner, lawyer Foh Amoaning has challenged the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to state its position on the issue of same-sex relationships.
The lawyer, speaking on Frontline on Rainbow Radio 87.5Fm said the party must state its position on the controversial topic.
The Executive Secretary of the National Coalition for Proper Human Sexual Rights and Family Values told Kwabena Agyapong that Ghana will never accept any attempt to promote homosexuality.
The lawyer has recently made headlines following resistance of an alleged conference a South African-registered group Pan Africa ILGA.
The group had several activities lined up for its fifth regional conference slated for Accra from July 27 to 31, this year.
The proposed international conference is on the theme: “Sankofa: Looking back to our roots – Reclaiming our right”, which is contained in the group’s website.
But Foh Amoaning says the coalition has resolved to have this agenda stopped.
The resolution he said has been assented to by traditional authorities, religious bodies, including Christians and Muslims, the media, civil and public servants among other stakeholders, elicit a comprehensive national and Pan-Africanist response against the LGBTQI phenomenon.
The lawyer posited that the NPP as a party campaigned with God through their ‘The Battle is the Lord’s mantra hence they have a responsibility to resist this'.
He commended Kennedy Agyapong for speaking against the LGBT agenda.
”The NPP has a higher spiritual and mor5al duty to speak against the LGBT agenda. I expect the General Secretary of the NPP, John Boadu to speak against it,” he added.
He also appealed to the government to come out with a comprehensive policy backed by an Act of Parliament to discourage the association from operating in Ghana.
