Attorney General Godfred Dame has stated that in Ghana, sovereignty belongs to the people, not any single institution or person.
Speaking at a Ghana Bar Association event, he emphasized that the Constitution grants the Judiciary final authority, making everyone, including the President, accountable to the law.
Dame urged legal professionals to support the Judiciary’s essential role in upholding democracy.
His comments come after the Supreme Court dismissed Speaker of Parliament Alban Bagbin's attempt to overturn a ruling on four disputed parliamentary seats, reinforcing the judiciary's oversight in legislative matters.
