The Union of Onion sellers in the northern part of Ghana are challenging staunch New Patriotic Party (NPP) member, Hajia Fati, to immediately apologise for “denigrating” them.
Speaking to OTEC FM's Evans Agyei Sikapa at Kumasi, the irate traders expressed disgust at the description given to them by Hajia Fati.
They have consequently vowed to invoke curses on her if she does not heed to their request of apologising publicly.
Hajia Fati was heard on a tape describing Accra based Adom FM's reporter, Ohemaa Sakyiwaa, as an onion seller per her appearance.
She is also reported to have assaulted Ohemaa Sakyiwaa at the NPP headquarters in Accra who was there to report on the picking of nomination forms by suspended Vice Chairman of the NPP, Sammy Crabbe.
Hajia Fati in reaction to the incident declined knowing that the lady in question was a journalist as she looked like an onion seller
This has sparked the anger among onion sellers in the country.
