A summary of all the events that happened within the year, particularly on the political front were brought to the fore during a review session on Joynews’ analysis show; Newsfile Saturday.
As expected, it wasn’t a year void of political controversies, policy outlines that sparked trouble, media issues and of course financial sector woes following the Central Bank’s clean up exercise.
With a diversity of panelists, for each topic, the show focused on areas including media freedom, the country’s educational reforms and the future of the Ghanaian student, Elections, electoral violence and political vigilantism, the financial sector crisis, public debt management debate and cedi depreciation.
Under media freedom, focus was put on the scorecard in three years, under education, panelists sought to dwell on issues regarding how globally competitive the current educational system is and under political violence, focus was on the law and its sufficiency as far as handling the subject is concerned.
Join panelists including Suleman Braimah, Liz Hayfron Asare, Prof. Kwasi Prempeh who tackled the media, Bright Simmons, Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum, Kofi Abotsi, and Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa who spoke on education, John Boadu, Samuel Ofosu-Ampofo who spoke on political vigilantism and Gabby Otchere-Darko, John Jinapor and Doris Yaa Aggrey Ahiati who focused on the financial sector crisis.
Hosts Sampson Anyenini and Evans Mensah brought closure to some of these pertinent issues which headlined the news in the last and final edition of Newsfile for the year 2019.
