A former Chairman of the Ghana Football Association, Dr Nyaho Nyaho-Tamakloe has called on the government of Ghana to try former President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Mr Kwesi Nyantakyi.
His comment comes after FIFA banned Mr Nyantakyi for life from all football-related activities.
The adjudicatory chamber of the world football governing body found Mr Nyantakyi guilty of having violated Article 19 (conflict of interest), Article 21 (Bribery and corruption) and Article 22 (Commission) of the FIFA Code of Ethics, 2012 edition.
His ban follows the Number 12 documentary by investigative journalist Anas Aremeyaw Anas which uncovered rot in Ghana football.
Reacting to the embattled former FA boss’ life ban on the Executive Breakfast Show (EBS) on Class91.3FM, Dr Nyaho-Tamakloe said the government should try Mr Nyantakyi to know whether he is guilty or not.
“The onus is now on the government of Ghana in the sense that they have to try Kwesi Nyantakyi because the government had him arrested, and he made statements concerning this particular problem and I think it is the duty of the government of Ghana now to try Kwesi Nyantakyi to find out whether he is guilty or not. So, this is how I look at the whole thing so far,” he told show host Moro Awudu.
