The John Dramani Mahama administration invested over US$2.2 billion in the energy sector to the benefit of all Ghanaians, a former Minister of Energy in the Mahama administration, Mr Emmanuel Armah Kofi Buah, has said.
He told Accra100.5FM’s parliamentary correspondent Richard Appiah Sarpong in an interview on Tuesday, 25 February 2020 that the results of these investments are visible for all Ghanaians to see.
Touting the achievements of the NDC administration, the opposition lawmaker said the Akufo-Addo administration is benefiting from the prudent investments made by Mr Mahama in the energy sector.
For instance, he said the NDC administration brought into the country the Ameri and Karpower plants and also built the Atuabo Gas Processing Plant.
The Ellembelle MP dared the government to turn off all those plants so it can appreciate the impact of the Mahama’s administration’s work in the energy sector.
“Over US$2.2 billion and the results are there for all to see. We brought the Jubilee, Sankofa, TEN oil fields. Without these, how was Nana Addo going to operate? We also brought the Atuabo, ENI”.
“I challenge the government to turn off Mahama’s Ameri plant, Karpower plant, and see if we won’t sleep in darkness.”
