Hundreds of ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) supporters including delegates in the Asawase constituency converged near the Kumasi airport to welcome Manaf Ibrahim who was fired from the presidency as an aide by the Vice President on Tuesday.
The supporters said the move was to show their love for Manaf, who they has been with the grassroot of the party for many years.
The group has also commended the National executives of the party for not recognizing the acclamation held in the constituency over the weekend to declare Alidu Seidu as Parliamentary candidate for the constituency.
Manaf has sued the party over the decision by executives to bar him from contesting the primaries.
The court has ordered the party not to allow anyone hold themselves out as candidate for the constituency until the matter is resolved.
A statement from the Presidency relieved him from his post as an aide to Vice President Mahamudu Bawumia.
