All 10 Regional Chairmen of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) on Thursday issued a communique, urging President John Mahama to contest the 2020 election.
The call was made after a marathon meeting in Accra.
Prior to this endorsement, several NDC big shots had endorsed the former President, insisting that he is the only credible candidate to lead the party in 2020.
The NDC led by President Mahama suffered a humiliating defeat in last year’s general election, trailing by almost a million vote gap.
It is not clear how other presidential hopefuls like Ekow Spio-Garbrah, Prof Josual Alabi, Alban Bagbin will take this latest bombshell.
