With ex-president John Mahama, recently accusing President Akufo-Addo of running a family and friends government, the Ashanti Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party, has stepped in and warned him to quickly stop in his tracks before he gets destructed in this unfriendly territory.

Mr. Benard Antwi-Boasiako is of the notion that the former President has run of message and wants to just make headlines thereby raising false red flags just to grab that attention.

The NPP’s Ashanti Regional boss popularly referred to Chairman Wontumi, noted that unlike former President Mahama who surrounded himself with “incompetent family and friends”, President Akufo-Addo had carefully selected people with the requite skills to help him manage Ghana.

Mr. Benard Antwi-Boasiako wondered why the former President would make this wild allegation when “you (Mahama) gave 58% of Ghana’s $460 billion bauxite deposit to your brother, just 9 days before handing over power to then President-elect, Akufo-Addo and his incoming NPP government and you have the nerve to talk about family and friends?”.

He added that “when Mahama was President, he together with his brother Ibrahim run the show whilst all his other appointees remained toothless bulldog”.

Former President John Dramani Mahama has accused President Akufo-Addo of running what he calls a family and friends government.

Addressing delegates over the weekend at Akwatia in the Denkyembuor District, former President John Dramani Mahama has accused President Akufo-Addo of running what he calls a family and friends government

Mr. Mahama alleged that several of President Akufo-Addo’s government appointees were either his relatives or his friends.

“The hypocrisy is frightening. Joyce Bawa is my Auntie’s child. Apart from her, I had no relative in government when I was in power; but they kept insisting I was running a family and friends government. Today, they have shown us that they are running a family and friends government. It is called shifting the goal post.”The former President is not the first to raise concerns about Nana Addo’s appointments.
