Founder and Leader of Ghana Union Movement Reverend Christian Kwabena Andrews, has warned the Electoral Commission (EC) of God’s wrath should they rescind their decision to compile a new register.
The man of God who is seeking to represent his GUM party to contest the 2020 presidential race said officials at the EC would be cursed if they fail to compile the new register.
Speaking in an interview with Nyankonton Mu Nsem on Rainbow Radio 87.5fm, he said he fully supports the call for a new register since the current one is not fit for purpose.
Reverend Andrews stated emphatically that "I have already told the EC they will be cursed should they fail to compile a new register. We need a new register for the 2020 general polls.”
He admonished Ghanaians to support the EC to compile a new register so we will have clean, transparent, free and fair elections that would be accepted by all stakeholders.
Meanwhile, the EC has announced it will start the compilation in April this year.
The commission added it hopes to end the exercise by the end of May.
