Former National Democratic Congress Member of Parliament(MP) for Gomoa Central Constituency, Central Region, Rachel Florence Appoh appears quite certain her former boss, Nana Oye Lithur will never be an MP until she begs and corrects all the 'sins' committed against.

Rachel Florence Appoh who served Nana Oye Lithur as a Deputy Minister of Gender, Children and Social Protection under the erstwhile John Dramani Mahama administration , recounts how she was virtually reduced to a receptionist.

According to her, even though she was appointed as a Deputy Minister for the Gender Ministry by then President Mahama, her substantive Minister, Nana Oye Lithur, made life a living hell for her.

She said there was bad blood between Nana Oye Lithur and her two deputies – Rachel Appoh and Benita Sena Okity Duah – a situation she believes led to the two deputy ministers losing their seats in Parliament.

“I am not a hypocrite, there were real issues at the Ministry. We were always in the news and that made Sena and myself lose our seats. We lost our seats way back in 2014 even before the election. We did all we could to revive the situation before the general election but I guess it was too late,” she said.

Commenting on the defeat of her former boss at last Saturday’s primary, she said “I’m a Christian and strongly believes what the Bible has said, whatever you don’t appreciate in life you’ll never get it. Hon. Nana Oye Lithur had the opportunity to work with two Members of Parliament (herself Rachel and Benita Okity Dua) as her deputy Ministers but she didn’t appreciate them. So if you don’t appreciate the position of an MP why do you want to be an MP. So until she appreciates that those of us (she and Benita) and goes back to apologize to Ledzokuku and Gomoa Central trust me, she’ll never be an MP.”

Nana Oye lost to Samira Bawumia’s brother, Mr Adamu Ramadan in the Adentan constituency of the Greater Accra Region where she was hoping to win and represent the NDC in the 2020 election.

She was however humbled after polling 558 votes as against the winner who polled 730 votes making him the ultimate winner.
