Ablakwa details how gov’t allegedly spent over GH₵160m in the name of African Games, months after the event
North Tongu MP, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, has accused the Ghanaian government of misusing over 160 million Ghana cedis after the 2023 African Games, which ended in March.
He revealed that recent financial documents show large sums were withdrawn months after the event, totaling GH₵168 million.

Ablakwa demanded an explanation from the government, questioning the necessity of these post-tournament payments, especially as other sectors face financial shortages.
He also criticized Sports Minister Mustapha Ussif for avoiding accountability.
