Agyeman-Manu told me NPP had taken over ambulance case to give fresh contracts to party businessmen – Jakpa
The third accused in Ghana's ambulance purchase trial, Richard Jakpa, alleged that former Health Minister Kwaku Agyemang-Manu told him the New Patriotic Party (NPP) had taken over the case to award contracts to party businessmen.
Jakpa, under cross-examination, stated that he presented letters from former Health Minister Alex Segbefia to clear ambulance accessories stuck at the port.
He claimed the refusal to clear the accessories was politically motivated, asserting that the ambulances were sabotaged to undermine the previous government’s project. Jakpa emphasized that Big Sea was ready to complete the contract once the accessories were cleared.
