José María Gutiérrez, currently the coach of Segunda Division side Almeria was a spine in one of the most successful Real Madrid teams of all time, and featured prominently in the galaticos era. Guti won five La Liga titles and three champions League trophies during his 15 year stay with Los Blancos.
Duncan revealed his admiration for the former Spain international even though he had a soft spot for Guti's compatriot Xabi Alonso.
“Before I arrived in Italy, I used to watch Xabi Alonso, but Guti was the player I liked the most given his incredible quality with his feet," he told Calciomercato.com.
“When I arrived in Italy, I had the opportunity to train with Thiago Motta who played exemplary football in his role.”
The 26-year old left Ghana for Italy at a tender age, before moving on to play for the likes of Livorno, Sampdoria, Sassuolo and now Fiorentina. He joined La Viola in the winter transfer window.
