The last time Kotoko beat AshGold in Obuasi was in 1985, but this week’s win has boosted morale in the Reds camp.
Kotoko goalkeeper Felix Annan, in particular, is reflecting the mood among the Porcupine Warriors. The 22-year-old has had a good league start so far, as he has played a crucial role. “It’s always a joy when you win derby games because it’s for the fans! Great character and thank God for a wonderful away win in the Ashanti derby,” he wrote on Twitter.
It was Kotoko's third win of the season, and this one came from yet another Yakubu Mohammed strike, increasing his legend as a big game player.
For Annan, it was a third clean sheet in four games and he could not have asked for much better as Kotoko host Elmina Sharks on Sunday.
