Black Stars new coach, Kwesi Appiah, has insisted that Asamoah Gyan will still remain as Black Stars captain.
There have been several reports indicating that the newly confirmed Black Stars gaffer will strip off the captain’s arm band from Gyan.
But during Appiah’s unveiling as the next Black Stars coach on Tuesday at the head quarters of the Ghana Football Association, the coach known as the ‘silence killer’ said he will maintain Gyan as captain of the four-time African champions.
“Gyan is still my captain, unless Gyan is sick , then Ayew takes over if only he is available,” Appiah said.
“For now nothing has changed. Gyan is the captain of the Black Stars.”
