Former Black Stars player, Augustine Arhinful has backed the Ghana Football Association's decision to make the Ghana Premier League autonomous.
The nation’s football governing body announced that they have commenced plans to make the Premier League independent of the football’s governing body.
The top flight league is currently run by the Premier League Management Committee of the FA, who replaced the Premier League Board (PLB) last year.
Arhinful said, “First of all if we want our football to go higher, then we must do our best to run an independent league because when it becomes autonomous nobody will question their decisions”
“If it becomes autonomous they will have their own judicial body, secretariat, chairman and will self-sufficient with their finances. So I think it is the best thing if we are able to get there”
“The Ghana FA must have their duties to perform”
