The GFA is headhunting for a replacement for Francis Oti Akenteng who left the job last month after being the helmsman for the last decade.
The country’s football governing body confirmed receipt of applications and had penciled interviews for last month. It was expected that a new technical director will be named by end of April with opinion holders divided on who should be the ideal candidate.
Local names like Bashir Hayford, Prof J.K. Mintah have all been mentioned as suitable candidates while others argue that a local cannot successfully run such a project.
Arhinful wants the GFA to employ a technical director who is competent and a visionary and says it will be best in his opinion if he was a local.
He told Light FM, “GFA should employ a visionary person who is knows more about the technical directorate division in football. As for me, I don’t conform to the idea of an expatriate but our own will not be allowed to work without restrictions”.
