Barcelona’s teenage sensation Ansu Fati has broken Peter Ofori-Quaye’s record to become the youngest scorer in the history of the UEFA Champions League.

Only just back from injury, Ansu was brought on in dying embers of the last group game against Inter Milan on Tuesday night with nothing to separate the sides at 1-1.

The youngster made an instant impact after firing a low shot from just outside the box to snatch all three points for the visitors and send Inter crashing out of the Champions League.

The 85th minute strike meant that the Guinea-Bissau born sensation of just 17 years and 40 days became the youngest goalscorer in the entire history of Europe’s premier club competition.

The record was previously held by Ghana’s Peter Ofori-Quaye, aged 17 yrs and 195 days for Olympiacos against Rosenborg in October 1997.
