Former Okaikwei South MP Nana Akomea has criticized the persistent dismissal of coaches whenever the Black Stars underperform.
Since Kurt Okraku became Ghana Football Association (GFA) President, the team has worked with five coaches, including Otto Addo, now in his second stint.
Following the Black Stars’ failure to qualify for the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) for the first time in 21 years, there are calls to sack Otto Addo. However, the GFA’s Executive Council remains undecided and will finalize his future on November 27, 2024.
Akomea advocates retaining Addo, arguing against the "cycle" of coach replacements. Ghana, joint-top of Group I in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers, faces Chad and Madagascar next, needing wins to maintain qualification hopes.
