Black Stars head coach, Charles Akonnor, is reported to have rejected a proposal from Ghanaian giants, Accra Hearts of Oak for a friendly match.
Ghana will commence their 2022 World Cup qualifiers with a home game against Ethiopia on Friday at the Cape Coast stadium before playing South Africa on September 6.
With Hearts of Oak playing Guinean side Club Industriel de Kamsar on September 10 in the preliminary round of the Champions League, Hearts of Oak was reported to have sent a proposal in the bid to engage the Black Stars in a friendly game as part of their preparations.
But according to Accra-based Angel FM, the technical handlers of the Black Stars headed by Charles Akonnor have turned down the request from Accra Hearts of Oak.
“We told them we want to play them in a friendly because we thought it would be beneficial to both of us but they said no. The excuse was that they are moving to Cape Coast but we insisted that even if they will play, we will travel to Cape Coast and pay our expenses and come back but they still rejected the request”, Hearts of Oak insider told Angel FM.
